Raquel Cumba, PhD

I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the treatment of anxiety and depression in children, adolescents and young adults. I offer a comprehensive assessment and a cognitive behavioral treatment (CBT) approach that is aimed at freeing the individual from worries, fears, and/or sadness so that they can return to enjoying their family, friendships, relationships and all other aspects of their lives.

I received my doctoral degree from The Catholic University of America (CUA) with a specialization in Children, Families, and Cultures. I completed my internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Children's Hospital of New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center (CHONY/CUMC). During my training at CHONY/CUMC, I worked in the Disruptive Behavior Disorders Clinic, School Based Mental Health Program, and Tourette, Tics, and Related Disorders Clinic. For the duration of the two years, I continued to pursue my passion within the Children's Anxiety and Depression Clinic. Finally, I also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Child Mind Institute within the Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program and Selective Mutism Program.

I am committed to providing individuals, youth, and their families with high quality evidence-based psychotherapy.  I am passionate about developing and restoring strength and resilience in individuals.
